Job Description

Sales Associate duties and responsibilities include working closely with customers to determine their needs, answer their questions about our products and recommend the right solutions. You should also be able to promptly resolve customer complaints and ensure maximum client satisfaction. To be successful as a Sales Associate, you should stay up-to-date with product features and maintain our store’s visual appearance in high standards. Ultimately, the duties of a Sales Associate are to achieve excellent customer service, while consistently meeting the store’s sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and engage with visitors, providing a welcoming and informative experience.

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the gallery's collections and exhibitions to effectively communicate with clients and visitors.

  • Assist in the organisation and setup of gallery exhibitions and events.

  • Conduct sales transactions and maintain accurate records.

  • Offer guidance and information regarding artists, their work, and the gallery's services.

  • Handle artwork with care and ensure the safety and integrity of the displayed pieces.

  • Collaborate with team members to maintain the gallery's appearance and operational standards.

  • Participate in ongoing training and development to deepen knowledge of art and sales techniques.

  • Provide support in managing the gallery's online presence and social media.

Requirements

  • Passion for art and a desire to learn about the gallery’s artists and exhibitions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to shifting priorities.

  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.

  • Proficiency in using computers and point-of-sale systems.

  • Proficiency in using digital tools and social media.

  • Further education in art, art history, or related field is a plus.

  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and some holidays.
